For lack of puffy clouds and drab sky color, the foreground tree’s branches and the not so distant brown-reddish edge of sloping pavement compensated for some details. Photo taken about 7:33PM DST.

I envy you this sky (and weather)! Lovely shot.
ReplyDeleteDantun: A neat shot of the sky through the trees.
ReplyDeleteHi Danton, nice to meet you too. This photo is really pleasing.
ReplyDeleteBranches have such nice twists. The bark is peeling, right? Don't Californians call that the manzanita tree? We have them in Israel too.
Have fun with your new blog and camera!
Dina,
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Great shot. Beautiful light.
ReplyDeleteGood to have you aboard Sky Watch! And what a great shot! Beautiful composition, love the way the trees are etched against the sky! Soft, gently colors.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Wouldn't mind a sky like that this weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully framed view of the sky, thanks for sharing this lovely view with us all.
ReplyDeleteNice photo. Is it during winter time ?
ReplyDeleteKBguy, I shoot that photo yesterday afternoon. Was not even sure I can get one, so I took a lot and selected one for the SWF. It's summertime here.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! It looks like an oilpainting.
ReplyDeleteWell framed shot. Is that a eucalyptus?
ReplyDeleteSydney - City and Suburbs
Dina / J Bar, will have to return to that place and check a sample and make a research. Really can not confirm, but thanks for the interest.
ReplyDeleteThose delicate colours of the sky are beautifully framed, and I love the warm sunlight on the branches.
ReplyDeleteJanice.
the trees more than make up for the lack of clouds - their twisting brances are wonderful, and nicely composed shot.
ReplyDeleteYour description is just right for a perfectly composed picture, very nice.
ReplyDeletelovely sky capture with the swirling and curvy branches of a eucalyptus tree framing it. and is that the la river i see in the background?
ReplyDeletehave a wonderful weekend. i used to live on first many moons ago...just beyond bonito...had a condo there.
erin, you know the area too well even if that part of the LA river only showed the cemented sloping riprap on the photo. it's the 710 willow exit portion.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you framed the sky with the trees. It looks hot there. Thanks for visiting my site.
ReplyDeleteWe have red dirt here, so very interested that you have it. Where we lived before coming here didn't have red dirt. In Australia most people associate red dirt with the Outback. Since this place is remote in that we don't have big shops etc. I think it is fitting.
